MB Gordy @ First WEDNESDAYS

6 May 2017

MB Gordy’s April 2017 First WEDNESDAYS event was a Hit, a Bang, a Slap, a Splash as he demonstrated his artillery of percussion instruments.

MB played the BIG DRUMS, little drums, shakers, cymbals, ethnic instruments and several unique one of a kind custom instruments. He discussed several recording and performance techniques like hitting 2 drums together at the same time but not exactly together to make a bigger sound.

Various notation techniques, the differences of recording in the studio and performing with live orchestra performance were discussed.

MB also touched on how to record percussion and shared a few war stories from his vast experience as one of the most sought after drummer and percussionists.

If you would like to sign up for a future demonstration at MB’s studio, please contact the ASMAC office.
