The ASMAC Emerging Professionals Committee has started to co-host the ASMAC 1st Wednesday Hangs at The Mayflower Club with John Mitchell’s Flight 584 Big Band. This month, 1 April 2026, the event was hosted with VP Milton Nelson and the Emerging Professionals Committee (Oliviana Marie, Adam Bellotto, Andreu Diport, Avith Miracle, Annette Johnson).

Had a terrific time at this month’s Wednesday big band mixer. One thing that struck me was that alongside the regular ASMAC members I’m getting to know at these events, we had a big swath of young composers as well! Really fun to see people at all stages of their careers coming to enjoy the band and the social connections. —Adam Bellotto
