Video Game Scoring — Battlefield 6 and Limp Bizkit

Moderated by Glenn Jordan

Join Henry Jackman for an in-depth exploration of the creative process behind a unique collaboration featured on the Battlefield 6 soundtrack. Jackman will break down how his original suite, Battlefield 6 Main Theme, evolved into the remix Battlefield: The After-Party, created in collaboration with Limp Bizkit.

In this seminar, Jackman will walk through his workflow and creative decisions while collaborating with the band, showing how the original orchestral material was transformed into a high-energy remix. With a live Avid Pro Tools session open on screen, he’ll dig into the stems, session layout, and production techniques used to build the track, discussing orchestration, sound design, and how the musical ideas evolved during the collaboration.

He’ll also share behind-the-scenes photos from the recording sessions and discuss the creative exchange that shaped the final track.

Designed for a room of peers, composers, orchestrators, arrangers, copyists, session musicians, and others in the music community, this seminar encourages a deep dive into the craft. With ASMAC’s extended format, the conversation can go well beyond the surface, giving Jackman the time to really get into the weeds and geek out about the details of the process.

Bio

Henry Jackman

Henry Jackman has established himself as one of today’s leading composers, fusing classical training with a background as a record producer and creator of electronic music. Born in southeast England, he began composing at an early age, writing his first symphony at six. He studied classical music at Oxford University and sang in the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir, while simultaneously immersing himself in the underground rave scene, producing electronica and dance remixes for artists such as Seal and The Art of Noise. In 2006, Jackman caught the attention of Hans Zimmer and John Powell, contributing additional music for Kung Fu Panda, The Dark Knight, The Da Vinci Code, and the Pirates of the Caribbean films, which led to his first solo scoring opportunity on DreamWorks Animation’s Monsters vs. Aliens. Expanding his work beyond film and television, he has also made a significant impact in interactive media, further broadening his creative reach.

Jackman’s extensive credits span film, television, and gaming, including Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Strange World; Netflix’s The Gray Man; Jumanji: The Next Level; Detective Pikachu; Ralph Breaks the Internet; Captain America: Civil War; and Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Extraction II, Red One, and Smurfs. Known for blending classical orchestration with contemporary sound design, Jackman brings versatility and emotional depth to every project. “It’s not about showing off what you think is cool,” he says, “but asking, ‘What does this movie need, and how can I serve it best?’ That process leads to strange and remarkable places.”
