Mina Choi’s debut album Stories reflects her journey as an immigrant, capturing themes of struggle, longing, and self-discovery. The album features seven diverse tracks for a 19-piece big band, including her original You’re Still Here, recorded to honor the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster. Alongside four of her original pieces, the album features jazz greats George Cables and Alex Acuña. Co-produced by Grammy Award-winner Bill Cunliffe, her mentor from Cal State Fullerton, Stories is a powerful and personal expression of her musical journey.
