This event features an in-depth analysis of Bevan Manson’s compositions, arrangements, and orchestrations from two soon-to-be-released jazz/studio orchestra albums, Talking to Trees and Other Good Creatures, and When the Cup is Lifted, as well as Manhattan Transfer vocalist Cheryl Bentyne’s ReArrangements of Shadows: The Music of Stephen Sondheim. Recorded with vocalists Tierney Sutton and Katherine Liner, vibraphonist Joe Locke, members of the Lyris Quartet, harpist Gayle Levant, bassists Luca Alemanno and Kenny Wild, drummers Joe LaBarbara and Bernie Dresel, and over 60 top studio musicians in studio orchestra and small ensemble settings.
