Exploring the intricacies of brass orchestration featuring a live demonstration and discussion with the humans that create the brass sound for film, TV, video games, and concert music. Topics include orchestration techniques, instrument combinations, mutes, articulations, ranges, doubles, practical and impractical usage, and suggested references.
This event featured Ross deRoche, esteemed music copyist/supervisor and contractor/score supervisor, tuba player, and bass trombonist. Moderated by multi award-winning Composer, Orchestrator, Conductor Tim Williams. Joined by the Tower Brass Quintet members David Johns & Drew Ninmer on trumpet, Kristin Morrison on French horn, Nick Lane on trombone, and previously mentioned Ross deRoche on tuba.
