The Latin sounds and scores of 4x GRAMMY award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer, and pianist Oscar Hernández.
This event will feature score study with an in-depth discussion of Oscar’s work for the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and the late Ray Barretto. Oscar will also talk about two-horn arranging for his latest quintet recording titled “Visión”
Styles covered include Salsa and Latin Jazz, exploring form, orchestration, and rhythmic structures including the “clavé”. Moderated by pianist, arranger, and composer Serge Kasimoff.
