Showcasing arrangements of Carrie Jacobs-Bond’s 12 Half-Minute Songs by our ASMAC community, including Jonathan Allentoff, John Chester, Martin Gravel, Bonnie Janofsky, Barbara Król, Akira Komatsu, Eva Mazurek, Gerardo Prieto, Grace Reid, Michael Stair, and Chuck Wike.

Learn a little about the amazing Carrie Jacobs-Bond (1862–1946).

• Composer, music publisher, poet, and so much more.
• First woman-owned music publisher (1894).
• Created more than 200 pieces, including:
  • “A Perfect Day” (1910).
  • “I Love You Truly” (1901), sold over 1 million copies.
  • Sold around 20 million copies of sheet music over time.
• Pianist, able to play back songs after hearing them, as a child.
• Supporter of the Theatre Arts Council who helped create the Hollywood Bowl.
• Tenacious, relentless, a singer’s songwriter, supporter of the arts.
• Performed at the White House for Teddy Roosevelt, Warren Harding, and members of the Supreme Court.
• Toured around the country and Europe.
