ASMAC Town Hall Part 2 Thursday March 7, 7:30

The American Society of Music Arrangers and Composer’s committee for arranger’s rights will host part 2 of a Town Hall style meeting:

• Follow up the December Town Hall Part 1: “Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due”

• Address the advancement of rights for the creators of music arrangements.

• News about a possible update of copyright law as applied to Tresona!

• Recap of the definition of various industry roles including – orchestration, music preparation, synthesizer production.

The discussion will outline a number of issues that have faced arrangers since the dawn of the 20th Century, resulting in arrangers becoming ‘Invisible Artists’. The first is to reach an agreement with the AFM that the Arranger becomes a line-item on Union contracts, separate from Orchestrator. As in Town Hall Part 1,  A number of controversial issues will be raised, promising another exciting meeting!
