ASMAC past president and 6-time Grammy nominee Chris Walden just finished recording a christmas album with trumpet legend Herb Alpert who has not recorded a christmas album in 48 years. Chris produced the album and arranged and conducted all tracks with orchestra and choir at Capitol Studios. The album will be released before the holiday season in 2017. Even though the album will feature a lot of known christmas standards, Herb and Chris decided to approach each one of them a little bit differently and put an unexpected twist to them. The album also contains a new christmas song composed by Chris Walden with lyrics by Paul Williams and beautifully sung by Lani Hall.
Chris also wrote an arrangement for Barbra Streisand‘s latest album “Encore” which debuted at #1 at the Billboard album charts and wrote a few arrangements for Michael Bublé’s upcoming album “Nobody but Me” to be released on Oct. 21.
