He has written music for countless artists including Arturo Sandoval, Take 6, Jane Monheit, Lalo Schiffrin, the Kennedy Center Jazz Orchestra and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. In addition, Deutsch has written for numerous Los Angeles area artists including Mark Blake, LC Powell, and Dave Damiani. Elliot Deutsch has a M.M. in Jazz Studies from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB and a B.A. in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. He has served on the faculties of Cal Poly Pomona and Long Beach City College.

After twice winning their big band composing competition (2011, 2012), Deutsch joined ASMAC’s Board of Directors (American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers). He also served shortly as the organization’s Vice President. Elliot returns to the Board of Directors for 2024–2025.

He performs regularly with his big band and brass quartet as well as playing at numerous weddings and events with Fine Artists Entertainment’s That Vibe. He has toured with Solomon Burke (R&B), Pato Banton (Reggae), Urban Renewal Project (Jazz/Hip Hop), and The Mutaytor (Electro Funk). Deutsch has played hundreds of gigs with local jazz bands and salsa bands.
