Widely regarded as one of the finest orchestrators of the 20th century, Conrad Salinger’s mark on the craft of orchestration is not something to pass lightly. He is credited as being the architect of the ‘MGM sound’ during the studio’s golden era in the 1940s and 1950s, creating rich tapestries of orchestral color and texture that could only befit this technicolor period of film making.

The webinar explores the many facets of Salinger’s career; his beginnings, broadway roots, transition into film orchestration including his famed MGM years. Using audio and score examples, the webinar analyzes his trademark arranging styles and nuances and explores more about who he was a person. Overall the talk provides a wonderful insight into the genius of Conrad Salinger and how he has inspired countless orchestrators to this day.
