ASMAC Officers for 2024 and 2025

29 January 2024

Elections were recently held for Officers to lead the ASMAC Board of Directors for the next two years; we’re pleased to announce the results:

Welcome, also, to our newest Board members:

We thank the other members of the board who ran for office and look forward to working with all of them as we continue to expand our events, masterclasses, big band hangs, mentorship programs, outreach, and education. If you’re not already a member of ASMAC (American Society of Music Arranger and Composers), we welcome all to join our community from anywhere in the Universe.

Some of our plans for the coming years include:

  • Continue with regular online events.
  • In-person Events and Workshop; bring back our Golden Score Awards.
  • Expand educational outreach and mentorship programs.
  • Digitize and make available more of the ASMAC archive.
  • Community building efforts.
  • Grow membership, sponsorship, and fundraising to support ASMAC projects.
  • Enhance access to resources for members and the public, including event videos.

Here’s a note from ASMAC President Gayle Levant:

Dear friends,

On behalf of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, I am proud to have the privilege of serving this wonderful organization as President. I would like to acknowledge all of you from around the world who have watched our online events since we began them in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. We are so grateful that many of you have now become members and have helped our ASMAC family grow.

A huge thank you to Milton Nelson, our Vice President, who has so generously given of his time to produce our events online.

Also, to Jeff Kellem, our newly elected 2nd Vice President, who posts the many links in the chat, Glenn Jordan for watching the chat and passing the questions on to our guest(s) from the panel, Evita Wagner and Eiko Jin, our Zoom hosts, and to all of you who join us for our events.

ASMAC is looking forward to joining with other organizations to encourage and educate young students in their desire to learn about composing, arranging, and orchestration.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Hugs to all,
Gayle Levant

Hope to see you at our future events!
